UNO Homer L. Hitt Distinguished Alumni Reception and Award Presentation

UNO Jazz at the Sandbar Series

For over 20 years, UNO's Jazz at the Sandbar performances have impressed jazz aficionados, entertained the community and provided a uniquely New Orleans educational experience for the UNO student ensembles paired on the bandstand with renowned jazz musicians. Jazz at the Sandbar has reunited students, faculty and community members with a long-standing Jazz tradition. Jazz at the Sandbar is presented by the UNO Jazz Studies Program with support from the UNO Student Government Association, WWNO Public Radio, Nate & Priscilla Gordon, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the UNO International Alumni Association and the New Orleans Jazz Celebration.

Alumni Homecoming Tailgating Party

What better time to celebrate your Privateer Pride than UNO's Homecoming? Come reconnect with alumni, students, faculty and friends, cheer on our Privateers and reconnect with your alma mater, New Orleans' University! Whether its club football, basketball or baseball, look for our tents to get in the spirit.
Official Ring Ceremony

Twice a year, in the month before each Commencement Ceremony, the University of New Orleans Alumni Association hosts a Ring Ceremony at which juniors and seniors with at least 75 credit hours receive their UNO Official Class Ring. The ring is second only to the diploma as a symbol of academic achievement.  Families, friends and alumni are welcome to celebrate this milestone on the students' route to becoming graduates!
Dine Like a Pro Etiquette Luncheon

One of our most popular events, alumni from a diverse range of professions join juniors and seniors at a special luncheon designed to give students a leg-up on business networking and dining etiquette.
Café and Resumes

Each year, the Alumni Association in coordination with Career Services hosts this resume review at which 20+ alumni and hiring professionals workshop students' resumes and provide advice and tips to help our students succeed after graduation.

Senior Week

Senior Week is a partnership with Student Affairs giving alumni an opportunity to celebrate the success of our newest graduates in a variety of ways. Changing events have included:

Networking SocialNew Grad & Alumni Social – alumni & graduates mingle and network at a local tavern.

Commencement – congratulate our newest grads as they queue up pre-commencement. Lend a hand with tassles and encourage staying involved!

Brunch & Bubbles - graduating senior leaders share UNO memories over breakfast & mimosas.
